NFL agrees with Trump about debate schedule, but media goes after him for ‘lying’ about letter

It’s not even August but the National Football League has its first controversy on its hands.

The hungry mainstream media has pitted the NFL against Donald Trump over an interview set to air Sunday.

In it, Trump tells ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that not only is he angry about the proposed debate schedule conflicting with NFL games, but the NFL is angry too and wrote him a letter to express its displeasure.

“I got a letter from the NFL saying, ‘This is ridiculous. Why are the debates against,’” he told Stephanopoulos. “‘Cause the NFL doesn’t wanna go against the debates. ‘Cause the debates are gonna be pretty massive, from what I understand, Okay? And I don’t think we should be against the NFL.”

It didn’t take long for the media to contact the NFL and find out if they sent the letter in question, and the answer was no.

Top @NFL spokesman tells me: “While we’d obviously wish the debate commission could find another night, we did not send a letter to Trump.”

“While we’d obviously wish the Debate Commission could find another night, we did not send a letter to Trump,” an NFL spokesman told CNN’s Brian Stelter.

So, the NFL agrees with Trump, but the press will skip right over that part.

First the NFL agrees with Trump, but that does not make the news.

Trump received a Private letter as opposed to an official letter. Nevertheless, that does not stop the lying state controlled media.

I like it! But Crooked Hillary will never agree to it. I can only imagine the reaction of a typical NFL crowd in such a debate!

The NFL still thinks “Hands up, don’t shoot” was true.

So, of course they are a reliable source of factual information.

Sorry NFL, I couldn’t care less what you want. Try losing your PC leanings and maybe things will change.

The NFL agrees with Trump.

They just did not send Trump an “official” letter.

The NFL is nervous about losing their tax exempt status from Hillary that wants to get rid of tax deductions for things such as homes, etc...

I said it a year ago. Hillary will never debate Trump

A week ago I said she’d never debate him but she’d blame him for her not doing so

A debate between Hillary and trump would take viewers away from th NFL even. But she’ll never do it. And she’ll blame him to the credibility of even people on this very forum. But it will be Hilary’s choice

Donald, shut the NFL up, prove them to be liars and release the letter they sent you.

That’s irrelevant.... Like who leaked Hillary’s emails to WIKILEAKS.

Besides it was a private letter.

You are ignoring the impotant part.... Why would they have a debate during an NFL game? It’s never been done that way before.

Where did you get the information that Trump received a “private” letter? Who was it from and when?

Hillary will debate Trump. Period. The MSM will be all over her if she tries not to. They want the ratings. And the money. And the drama. This is one thing she will have to do, whether she wants to or not. And Trump would nail her every day about it if she hesitates. She would lose big-time, as we the people would be raising holy hell too. So,only if she wants to guarantee losing the election would she try to take a pass on debates.

Actually, Trump might put up a stink about the dates chosen. His staff should find out when these dates that have been picked were actually really finalized. See if they were really locked in a year ago. Just because they say so doesn’t make it so. The debates commission was able to change one of the dates recently, because the college that was to host one of these debates cried poor. So we knows those dates aren’t cast in concrete.

Trump’s not going to share a private letter for the world to see. Nor should he!

The NFL dropped its tax-exempt status over a year ago.

Agree completely.

Only for teams, and NOT the league. What we saw was a P.R. stunt.
