Something else to consider:

Suppose you were Trump having to decide whether to let Cruz speak or not. You don’t care much about his endorsement but your #1 goal is to unify the party. If you were as brillant a strategic thinker as Trump it would have been an easy decision.

Best case, Cruz would have capitulated and given an endorsement which would help bring at least some of his supporters to the Trump train.

Or, as he probably figured, Cruz would be his usual arrogant, petulant, egotistic self, and in the process would alienate many of his supporters who would be appalled at his pettiness and inability to be a gracious loser by putting the party first. Thus even in this case, there would be fewer Cruz supporters afterward and those disillusioned ex-Cruzers would be potential Trump supporters. Rejecting Cruz is the first step toward unifying the party.

We were told how brilliant Cruz was, now we see he’s just as Roger Stone put it, “A dumb son of a bitch”.

Ted cooked his goose with me when he blamed the violence in Chicago on Trump.

His performance last night was further confirmation that he is an insufferable ass.
