I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump realizes much of the job losses are part of “globalization”, and he can have a limited impact on them. He doesn’t have to make it worse like Obama did (strangling economic growth), but I’m not sure anyone could have stopped a lot of the offshoring that has occurred (which started back when Obama was dressing in Muslim garb as a teen).
