All valedictorians should be offered $200k to NOT go to college.
Listen up. BRANSON IS AN AVOWED SOCIALIST! IOW......he wants ANY competition killed. At all cost.
I see what you did there! Nice spike.
working class boys are realizing that not all college degrees pay for them selves. if you pay good money to a university you better have a good idea what you are going to do with your degree otherwise all you have is debt.
The world needs ditch diggers, too.
I got some news for you stupidity and low IQ hits people of means.....how many trust fund babies do you no of.... I am guessing you have very little interaction with those that are blue collar. you would be surprised how many highly intelligent people there are that are low class. I my self am what you would consider lower class. you can find idiots every where you would be surprised how successful some people with lower IQs are... all that a low iq means is that you wont get a creative answer to a problem out of the person.
I wish it were different, and I know probably most people don't agree with me. It's never made sense to go into debt for an undergraduate degree. It makes getting a graduate degree with even more debt less realistic.
When I got out of the Navy in ‘74 I considered going to school to learn more electronics than the Navy had taught me, (mag-amps and vacuum tubes). A friend convinced me to read Electronics magazine from cover to cover every week instead. At the time the magazine was about 2 years ahead of the textbooks. It worked quite well for me. The corresponding field today (in terms of maturity of the tech) would be molecular biology.
There is nothing magical about money, stupid people can attain it too, case in point, the Cardashians. And of course people will lesser intelligence can make lots of money (by doing things great that they are good at).
I have known many people of notably lesser intelligence that have succeeded in business. If you OWN the building contract business, OWN the Plumbing company, OWN the electric contracting business ect, and you have some talent at that and a few other important traits, then you are most likely a millionaire many times over.
The point I was trying to make is that people must be honest when assessing themselves and they can achieve. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Encouraging someone to pursue a career in something they are not equipped for is setting them up for failure.
All the encouragement and money in the world would not have resulted in me being a brain surgeon, I am not gifted with the talents necessary to achieve such a designation. If everyone had encouraged me to be a doctor ... I would have failed and been saddled with dept the rest of my life.
I see it as a cultural crisis of laziness.
No longer do we possess the cultural ethic of hard work.
To strive is to be a loser nowadays.
Black rappers taught me that.
thanks you for restating and clarifying...this sounds a lot better then how you stated it the first time.
