CHICAGO (AP) - A cut from a broken souvenir beer mug has landed Texas Rangers reliever Jake Diekman on the 15-day disabled list.
Diekman hurt his left index finger while reaching into his luggage for a beer mug he bought at the bar Cheers in Boston. The mug had broken in his bag, and a piece of glass pierced his finger.
General Manager Jon Daniels told MLB.com the injury was a "nagging deal on the top of his left index finger."

I remember when the Tigers had the young starting pitcher named Dave Rozema who sat on a broken glass or booze bottle in the locker room at Tiger Stadium. It was a big deal but then again, it wasn’t REALLY a big deal...It might have pissed Sparky off a little bit and I think Al Kaline sat him down for a little Tiger-to-Tiger talk.
Beer mugs can make you stumble and fall down too. So I’ve heard!

Gack. I had to go to the original article to find that. I’m not even interested in sports, but I had to find out what the abbreviation stands for.
I remember Rozema injuring himself doing a flying side kick during an infield brawl.
He and Gibby married the twins who use to dance at one of the bars on 8 Mile. This was WAY before Eminem’s time.
