He’s correct, religious tests are forbidden, and for good reason. In no time at all those kinds of powers would be turned on other religions, and for wholly different purposes.
What you can do is restrict immigration by nation and source, That’s why Trump has changed his stance. It simple wouldn’t hold up in any court. There is no point in passing a law that will be struck down. It’s honestly encouraging from the perspective Trump appears to be hoping to accomplish something, not just make a point.

Newt for Chief of Staff. I’ve been saying this all along. He would have been a total drag on the ticket.

Agree.

Newt for Chief of Staff.

Chris Christie for AG.

Pence seems fine. Was hoping for a female or swing state (Ohio, Florida) pick.

Newt has the divorces and seems like a blast from the past.

Trump wants to sell ‘new direction’ and Pence is that.

Newt fans: Look for his lecture to Carville’s class at Tulane. Excellent.

[It was a mistake not putting him on the ticket.]

AMERICA doesn't need 2 ALPHA-MALES in the White House.

TRUMP & PENCE’s temperament compliment each other.

“Megyn Kelly Ho was not excellent IMHO. I turned her off when she started embracing her muslim fellow gym rat. Insinuating that all muslims are like her friend. A nice woman with 3 kids. How can muslims be bad, bla, bla, bla, click.”

I feel your pain. I haven’t watched Fox since the debate debacle. I was eating dinner with my Mother tonight and she had Fox on, so I was stuck.

I was dumbfounded by Megyn’s stupidity. We shouldn’t vet Muslims because Megyn’s yoga instructor is muslim. My blood pressure was shooting up rapidly.

During Newt's ill-fated 2012 presidential campaign, his supporters reinvented the Speaker Gingrich years as some bizarro "alternate history" story that bore little resemblence of what actually unfolded during his tenure in the job.

In their alternate reality version, "Gingrich lead Republicans" were wildly successful at stopping Clinton dead in his tracks during Clinton's second term, resulting in some kind of conservative utopia in the late 90s and huge gains for the GOP -- until poor widdle Newt was the victim of an abrupt "RINO led coup" orchestrated by Lindsay Graham that forcefully "removed" Newt as Speaker at the height of his popularity.

The funny thing is the vast majority of voters today are old enough to remember the '90s, so their fictional version of events is about as believable as retroactively claiming O.J. Simpson tearfully confessed to killing his wife back in '95 and pleaded for a lesser sentence, only to see Judge Ito order him to be executed by ol' sparky.

You are so wrong. Newt is all talk. He caves to the Democrats whenever he feels unloved. When you need his support he disappears like a ghost if he thinks Callista's liberal nature would not approve.

If he feels slighted or doesn't get his way he crawls away and sulks. He is much to moody and morose to be the Vice President.

I have knowledge that most do not have. I live in the Georgia 6th Congressional district. We are the voters that kept sending him to Washington DC over and over until he let us down, turned tail and ran like a scalded dog.

He won his last election by a 71% landslide only to resign from Congress the next day. The sad bipolar coward left the State of Georgia never to be seen by us again.

Wouldn’t it be something if this massacre in France and Newt’s interview with Hannity cause Trump to change his mind on the VP.

It would be something sad and infuriating like that hurricane that reelected Obama.

OH? You have a death wish and want Hillary to be president, do you? That IS exactly what would happen, IF Newtie is Trump’s choice for VEEP!

You obviously know nothing whatsoever about Newtie, who has many of the BIGGEST, very old Louis Vitton Steamer trunks filled with with scandals, idiocies, and scandals, which make anything in Trump’s background look like a 3 year old caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Pence has stated that he is pro immigration of refugees.

And.....? Some others say he got wishy-washy and backed down from a really strong anti-abortion stand.

Compared to Hillary, he's such a strong conservative (who endorsed Cruz early on) that he would be the sane choice if he was the nominee for Pres. Trump will rule his roost and the veep will either be helpful or be kept in a dim room.

Pence broadens the potential base vs. narrowing it even more.

I've been telling folks that if they check, those who make comments such as yours are much more likely to not be contributors to FR or to any candidate - they like to stir the pot and carp but actually offer nothing of substance - do you fit my theory?

Maybe Newt is TOO smart for Trump. He doesn’t want to be shown up when Newt makes all the cogent arguments for Trump policies without the off-putting balderdash and verbal diarrhea.

Newt has this problem: Nobody likes the smartest boy in the class.

The Alliance for Climate Protection was founded in 2006 by Al Gore to encourage civic action against climate change. The organization was founded in Palo Alto, California and later moved to Menlo Park, California before relocating to Washington D.C. in 2009. Originally established as a 501(c)(3), the organization later included an affiliated 501(c)(4), the Climate Protection Action Fund, which developed advocacy campaigns focused on climate change solutions through grassroots organizing and lobbying.

The organization was partially funded by proceeds donated from Gore's documentary An Inconvenient Truth, as well as profits from the book of the same name. Gore also donated his salary from his work for the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and prize money from his 2007 Nobel Peace prize for a total of more than $2.7 million. The distributor of An Inconvenient Truth, Paramount Classics, also donated 5 percent of the film's box office earnings to the Alliance. The Alliance was also funded by profits from Live Earth concerts in 2007.

The Alliance encouraged federal policies that limited greenhouse gas emissions and supported low-carbon power sources. Former campaigns from the Alliance include the bipartisan "We" campaign, launched in 2008. The campaign, which included an advertisement called "We Can Solve It" featuring Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich jointly calling for a response to climate change, was created to prompt public action against climate change on a national and international level. The "We" campaign included partnerships with the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, the United Steelworkers of America and the National Audubon Society. The same year, the Alliance launched the "Repower America" campaign to support Gore's directive to shift American homes to 100 percent clean energy within 10 years. This campaign supported climate change legislation in the United States and, according to The Washington Post in 2008, was one of the farthest reaching public advocacy initiatives in recent history.

Also in 2008, the Alliance created the Reality Coalition in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation, the League of Conservation Voters, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Sierra Club. The Reality Coalition used television, print and online advertisements as well as grassroots events to challenge the idea of clean coal.

That is the enemy, FRiend, they own your bulldog.
