Yes & No. Conservatives of both countries could be considered allies, and the same hold true for liberals of both countries.

I was looking for guidance from Gavin McInnes for your question and bumped into this article from 2014:

Check out the comment section - search “1812”
They were even battling it out in the comment section about the “Fenian Raids”
It’s a quite lively comment section there...

Well, since Barry got such a rousing welcome from parliament, on his last visit, I’m gonna go with enemy. And they don’t have any problem letting johnny Jihad into their borders, as long as the pass through ours.

We were at war with Great Britain in the War of 1812. Canada was not an independent country then, they were a colony of Britain. The war ended with the Treaty of Ghent in 1815, although the Battle of New Orleans occurred after the war had ended. No email back in the day.

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do here."Get some firewood in, begin drinking heavily and wait for winter. No one would invade Canada in the winter.
To: Jonty30
I'm just wondering if we ever got around to signing a treaty for the War of 1812? The Treaty of Ghent

Canada is our natural enemy. We have fought six wars with Canada--more than we have with any other country. They were as follows:
- Thje War of the League of Augsburg (1688-1697)
- The War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714)
- The War of the Austrian Succession (1740-1748)
- The Third Silesian War (1754-1763)
- The War of the American Revolution (1775-1783)
- The War of 1812 (1812-1815)
Of course, in four of those wars, we were English and Canada was French.

We might have to build a wall to the north as well.

I heard that when Trump is Pres we will invade canada and make it into a giant oil refinery to power our newly empowered industrial complex. (It should take about a week)
Mexico will also be where we will all have our winter condos staffed with hispanic slaves to serve us.
