Just checked in before bedtime. Found this, which might explain a lot:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_Keepers

One should be known by the enemies they keep, rather than by their “friends”?

I’m not a philosopher, but I play one on occasion. and, yes, maybe OK is dying. Question then becomes; what will supplant them?

It is likely that Oath Keepers has been heavily infiltrated by active law enforcement plus free lance informers paid by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Federal government has performed infiltration and provocation against anti-government groups since the 1960s, and possibly earlier. Until authority breaks down, such as was the case in the former Soviet Union and the satellite nations in the late 1980s, joining these groups is an activity that could lead to members being charged, or framed, and excessively punished or fined. And nothing is or will be accomplished. The success of the American breakaway from the British Empire, which we celebrate today, was due to a relatively weak level of imperial control and the dominance of many colonial governments and militias by enemies of that control. The Feds have way more power than did King George III and his minions ever dreamed of, state and local governments are run by politicians who may rail against Obama, Federal agencies, or the Supreme Court but who ultimately cave in, and there is no effective militia, with the National Guard federalized at the President's whim and the absence of an organized militia in the 18th or 19th Century sense.
