There might be better airshows out there but for sure none is as refreshing as the Fort Lauderdale Air Show. Watch from the beach or, better yet, while sitting in the ocean. This video is from 05-07-16 when I watched this group of Thunderbirds appear from behind the beach condo while wading in the water.
Okay, the Fort Lauderdale Air Show might not be the best one out there in terms of aeronautics but I think it is definitely the most REFRESHING one to watch. The air show in the video took place last May 7 with the heat in high 80s so wading in the ocean during the show was much appreciated. I was in the water for about 4 hours with only a quick break on the sand to drink some water.
If you know of a more REFRESHING air show to watch then post here but I sure hate standing in the heat to watch air shows thus the attraction of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show for me.
I have been to the Airshow when it was out by Executive Air back in the late 70’s.....Loved it and then while living in LDBTS for years loved it when it went off shore.
I think you we’re at the end of Oakland Pk Blvd. I recognize some of the condos I help construct in that time period.
Hoss
Egads, weren't you afraid of getting bitten by a shark?
I’m relatively confident those are the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds.
Naw. Most sharks are small and harmless to people.
You are correct.
And found a video of the performance, I wasn’t sure in my previous reply, as there were only 6, and they fly a 9 plane formation for the most part, but then three of them peal off as the other six continued on towards your location:
Full performance: https://youtu.be/k0OexhXkOCI
And when the three leave the formation on the egress: https://youtu.be/k0OexhXkOCI?t=4m44s
Looked like the Thunderbirds to me and I just saw them in March. Both they and the Snowbirds were at Lauderdale this year. However, the Snowbirds have a typical flight of nine planes together.

Most refreshing air show I ever knew was in Vietnam; I was standing at the end of a dirt runway when a C-130 appeared & started shooting touch & go’s. Hotter than hinges of Hades that day as usual.
Every time that Herc shot past me on liftoff there was a blast of air that went WHOOSH & cooled me down for a few seconds.
One time I took a Huey up to 6,500 ft just to cool everybody off. Like sticking your head in the freezer.
With ya’Hoss.
They are definitely not F-16s.
Freeze the video just after they pass overhead and you can see the planform is not an F-16, not even close. Straight wing jets. . .not sure what type, Canadian Snowbirds, perhaps?
I think you're right because they were there too.
Yep.
Here are Thunderbirds

I paused the video and full screened it and you are correct, it appears to be the Snowbirds.
Jones Beach,NY-——just as good.
.
The Redneck Riviera has lots of free extras.
Yeah, I just love to wade in ice cold water that smells of dead fish & sewage.
Go to Rio!
