Such powerful harmonies on that cover—John, Paul, and George just nailing it. I love their version of that song, in fact gonna listen to it now.
The harmonies are great! And John nails it.
I listened to it a thousand times a few weeks ago when I was working under the kitchen sink :)
The song was alot better than the sink results!!
☆ "I'm A Loser"☆ "Midnight Special" (Hillary's post-election prison song, sung by Paul "Leadbeatle" McCartney)
☆ "I'm A Loser" (again)
“referring to Hillary”
don’t give her airs, or she will start telling us again how she is named for Sir Edmund Hillary.....
Well at least she did climb Mt. Everest under sniper fire, didn’t she?
My mom (at the time) fainted while on line to see the Beatles. Her story made a local Philly newspaper. My father (at the time) was mistaken for George Harrison and was chased by teenage girls on a Philly street. My dad also held his hand out to shake with the presidential candidate John Kennedy, only to pull it back and stroke his hair.
Big Brother died when Janis left us.
The Beatles killed their own brand when they ventured off into spiritual darkness. They were strong until that.
The best Beatles music was from Revolver on. My favorite Beatles record is the last one they made - Abbey Road. It was their pinnacle although Sgt Pepper is probably their most creative effort. A truly great band that evolved and got better and better over time and quit why they were on top. Remarkable.

If you like deep eternally deadly paganism, perhaps.
( I Wanna Hold your Hand was released in 1964. )
There were other popular music styles at that precise time, including folk, surf, Motown, rock&roll, etc.
In my area, the British invasion had competition, and didn’t immediately push the others out of the way.
But gradually all of the British groups combined, did make a big impact.
Spring 1966 and an Easter Week trip to the Colorado River, during which I remember listening to The Stones, playing Chuck Berry sounds.
You like Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, a heroin addict, and you wish you to lecture others? Yeah, right. :-)
Just exactly where did I express any adoration for Janis?
My ticket to the Beatles concert in 1966 was just $4.50.
