I just left a large place I go to once in a while.
They have a large number of ATM machines there, well, OK, it's a casino.
I left because I was out of cash and couldn't get any money from a certain machine.
Well, as I was leaving, I figured I'd try another machine, because I know I have cash in my account.
It had a MACHINE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE card on it. So I checked other machines, and they ALL by this time had a MACHINE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE card on them!
Now a fiber outage is possible... but so is Brexit!
Anyways, to make a short story even shorter, I headed home... figured I'd post this to see any reaction.
Happens all the time here in the rural Philippines. Usually means a brownout somewhere so the internet between the banks can’t talk to each other.
I wish I would have been that lucky a bunch of times lol
Well, like I said, it could be a cut fiber or something.
But I have never seen this, at all the stations at once.
If I had been smart, I would have stopped at my regular Credit Union on the way home and tried it.
But I guess I wasn’t!
Did you ask the manager what the deal was?
Nope.
Just left.
The manager might have been able to fix you up with a loan at standard mafia rates.
Someone somewhere is trying to tell you something: Never use an ATM machine in a casino. It’s bad karma.
Sometimes... well, once in a while, IT AIN’T MY FAULT!!!
;-)
On a bad day, I lose $30 or so. On a good day I make enough to cover the casino's buffet lunch.
See ya trackside!
A company that closes its doors, that turns off its machines, that turns down customers because its “political analysts” fear (or despise) their customers’ desires ... deserves to lose its customers’ business.
did you enjoy any free drinks while there?
Yep, a $10 now for a $20 later.
Howard Wolowitz: Sheldon, why do you have all these unopened paychecks in your desk?
Sheldon Cooper: Because most of the things I’m planning to buy haven’t been invented yet.
Howard Wolowitz: There, there must be thousands of dollars here! Why don’t you put it in the bank?
Sheldon Cooper: I don’t trust banks. I believe when the robots rise up, ATMs will lead the charge.
