That's plenty of RAM.

Do you know the RPM of your hard drive? 7200 makes a considerable difference over 5400.

I find that a small SSD (60-120GB) for the C: drive works wonders compared to any commercial rotating hard drive. The rotating hard drive can then become D: and store data.

I had a 120 SSD, and it filled up quick, even with all my documents on another drive. I finally bought a 1G SSD. Love it. The speed increase over HHDs is incredible.
