SENECA, S.C. —A Seneca man was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart with two children, according to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
Kevin Bernard Holden, 46, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:18 a.m. Thursday, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said.
According to the sheriff's office, the shoplifting happened at a Seneca Walmart on Sandifer Boulevard May 29 and May 30.
On May 29, Holden placed several food items in his buggy and left the store, Crenshaw said.
The next day, May 30, deputies responded to the same Walmart where Holden was with a child pushing a buggy filled with over $800 worth of lawn supplies, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff said when the deputy asked Holden for a receipt, Holden took off running with the child and buggy and got away in a car, which another person was driving.
The items were not paid for this time either, Crenshaw said.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were able to determine that Holden and the children involved in the shoplifting May 30 matched a previous shoplifting case earlier in May.
There were a total of six warrants out for Holden's arrest on May 31, the sheriff said.
Holden is currently in custody at the detention center with a $25,000 bond, according to Sheriff Crenshaw.

This tactic is not new. Shoplifters have been using children for years to steal stuff.
They act like they don’t know. They also know that the child won’t be prosecuted. Nothing happens to them.
