Don't be fooled by the Left's sleight-of-hand for they never mean what they speak. Obama is a master at this by pointing at some new shiny object to distract everyone from his screw-ups.

After the massacre in Orlando, he comes out and says the usual, (paraphrasing), "We are saddened by the loss, we don't know the motivations but I'll get to the bottom of this for the American people and I am so angry I could shoot a Republican." Blah, blah, blah. Yada, yada, yada.

Liberal-speak translation: "We are so excited to not have to waste this tragedy by taking advantage of another opportunity to get rids of guns."

And that last sentence is not satire....

And Goldwater was spot on when he famously remarked that he wished he could saw off the East Coast and set it adrift in the Atlantic.
