Brushing aside warnings that theyll tip off terrorists to secret investigations, Democrats pressed ahead Wednesday with plans for new gun controls after the Orlando shooting, and even enlisted an unlikely potential ally Donald Trump, who said hes open to a discussion about banning firearm sales to those on the governments no-fly list.
Sen. Chris Murphy, Connecticut Democrat, launched a nearly 15-hour quasi-filibuster on the Senate floor to draw attention to the issue, saying Congress should stop its business until it votes to impose tighter gun controls...
After an Islamist terrorist killed 49 people and wounded more than 50 in a gay Orlando nightclub over the weekend, both Democrats and Republicans are looking to do something and guns have become an expedient target...
And Mr. Trump, Republicans likely presidential nominee, posted a Twitter message saying he would meet with the National Rifle Association to talk with them about the issue.
Im going to be looking at it very, very seriously, Mr. Trump said in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on Fox News Channel. The terror watch list and the no-fly list Im going to be talking to the NRA about that and starting a real dialogue.
But Republicans, who have said the lists are riddled with errors, got backup Wednesday after they re-released comments from FBI Director James B. Comey, who told Congress last year that denying guns based on the secret lists could blow terrorism investigations...

So Trump says he will be meeting with the NRA to discuss this and the headline says he is ‘joining Obama’.
O-kay.
Talking to someone about a contentious issue does not make them an ally. One would hope that Trump is not just going to talk to the NRA, but GOA and JPF as well.
The headline says he joins Dem9crats, not Obama.
[Im going to be looking at it very, very seriously, Mr. Trump said in an interview that aired Wednesday evening on Fox News Channel. The terror watch list and the no-fly list Im going to be talking to the NRA about that and starting a real dialogue.]
I don’t call ‘a real dialogue’ siding with the Democrats.
My main problem with the no-fly list is the lack of ability to challenge bad data and remove false names from the list.
That is why the government is like a woman (to quote Jack Nicholson’s character): “Think of a man, and take away reason and accountability”.
Last time I checked Obama is the leader of the Democrats.
This isn’t what Trump said, he said he was meeting with the NRA to ask questions....
Let’s ask ourselves if we had a loved one, and a guy who was on some watch dog list shot her. I think you make it to one of these lists, you don’t get a gun and you’re not allowed to fly.
No....The NRA has put out a policy memo on this. He’s with the NRA all the way.
Conversely, the "real conservatives" in congress are in the process of--yet again--caving to Obama.
House GOP Leaders Set To Endorse Obamas Failed Anti-JIhad Strategy
Who is the real danger to our safety? I'll give you a hint: it ain't Trump.
If only we could find a clue as to what the real problem is.
Agreeing to discuss, does not rise to the level of joining. The title of the article is not truthful.
Don’t ban the guns to people on no fly list. Ban those people.
STOP POLITICAL SCRUBBING FOR MID-EAST SPONSORS
if they attempt to buy guns while on a WATCH LIST FBI says that is what tips them off and will blow their investigations of terrorists
I am not OK with taking away anyone’s Constitutional rights without any form of legal recourse and due process.
“I think you make it to one of these lists, you dont get a gun and youre not allowed to fly.”

Do you know what it takes to make one of those lists? What if you found out that posting on a pro-freedom website earns you a spot?
The “no-fly” list is going to have to become much, much more transparent. The first time most of those on the list learn of it is when going through the TSA line, and are turned back at the gate. Apparently there is little room for appeal, and the process is so clumsy that it may take months to get taken off the list if placed on there wrongly. The determination is made in some secret court proceedings, and there is little in the way of either protecting one’s rights, or raising a counterargument.
It appears that Amendment IV of the Bill of Rights may come into play here. Unreasonable search and seizure appear to apply, in that the discovery of the putative reason for the “no-fly” designation is based, many times on conjecture and misinformation, the target is not informed, and the right to utilize the time-saving features of air travel is unilaterally and capriciously denied.
If you want a real dialogue, Donny-boy, you better get off your butt and start dialoguing. The Demonicrats are already moving. Are you with 'em or against 'em?
