Reports: Toddler dragged by gator into water near Disney's Grand Floridian

BAY LAKE, Florida - Deputies are searching for a two-year-old child that reportedly was dragged into water around the area of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, according to WFTV and The Orlando Sentinel . According to Orange County deputies, authorities were told the child was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon.

A helicopter was sent above the area to search for the child above as authorities search by ground.

disney world is certainly getting worked over here lately. have been going to disney world for years and have never seen a gator.

There are gators pretty much everywhere in that part of Florida. We had one in my suburban north east florida neighborhood last year.

I live 10 miles from Disneyland in Cali. The only gators there are the animatronics ones

I’ve seen Gators, Water Moccasins... and the occasional Bobcat on the property.

The gators move this time of year .
They are in just about every fresh body of water in the state.
They really need a good hunt to bring the numbers of the really large ones down .

This reportedly occurred at 9:30 PM EST, that was almost three hours ago. I don’t think there’s much hope at this point, sad to say.

Gators have more rights than people, don’t cha know...

Gators are big, active predators. Our forefathers knew they were dangerous. That is a big reason why they hunted them and kept their numbers down.
