I am disappointed that Ben Stein thinks that Hillary knows about economics, but Trump doesn't. I think that Ben Stein is completely wrong.

That’s why Trump is a billionaire, because he doesn’t know anything about economics.

How did Ben earn his billions?

Yeah Ben, tell us all about your millions or billions and how you made them through businesses and wise investments.

Hillary Clinton "knows something" about economics

Indeed. 0bama also "knows something" about economics. Both of them know how to destroy the once prosperous economy of a once free country.

Hillary knows plenty about economics; she’s a billionaire, too, you know.

Didn’t Stein work for Richard “We’re all Keynesians Now” Nixon?

Ben is reasonably wealthy, but nowhere near 10 billion $ of wealth. Trump apparently knows a thing or two Stein does not.

>>but Trump doesn’t. I think that Ben Stein is completely wrong.<<

The proof is in the pudding. Trump is in control of untold billions. Stein, a few million at best.

This means Trump understands economic cause and effect more than an academician.

What stein is saying is that he disagrees with Trump’s economic POLITICS.

NOT the same thing.

Trump has a business degree from a top business school and has been running his businesses for decades, but he doesn’t know a thing about economics.

If you say so, Ben.

P.S. We are already in a trade war, but we are losing.

To my knowledge, Ben Stein has no degree in economics, nor any particular expertise. It just sounds like Trump favors something that Stein opposes. What might that be?

But Shrillary would, Ben? You must be on powerful meds these days.

lead to a trade war

How can we be led into a trade war that WE ARE ALREADY IN? We've been in a trade war since the early 1990's.

"that doesn't mean he would be a great steward of the US economy."

Stein does have a point...

The US economy is vastly complex and multifaceted...

Vastly more complex because the government keeps sticking it's nose it the way it functions...

I do trust Trumps gut far more than Stein baseline knowledge...

I'm also sure Trump will bring in the best and brightest to help him...

I'd like to hear Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams take on Trump and economics ...

Here's all you need to know about Ben Stein's "understanding" of economics: He attacked Art Laffer and publicly insulted Reagan both for Supply-Side Economics and deregulation. He applauded Nixon for wage and price controls and for increased regulation of business and economic affairs and for several new Cabinet-level bureaucracies that Nixon created that are increasingly used to destroy both basic and economic liberty.

His father was one of Nixon's closest economic advisors. If anyone is an economic ignoramus, it's Ben Stein.
