Have never heard of the organization "ALEC" and probably for a good reason. I don't see anything AMERICAN about it. Would like to know how successful the law was in ousting the reporter from the hotel who was a registered guest there. His (their) arrogance was incredible. It didn't look like hotel security to me.

Good question, they were described as "off-duty" deputy sheriffs and one seemed to respond to the non-verbal signal of a member of the public who was at most inconvenienced - as opposed to a request by the inn keeper.

Not sure if the reporter was actually removed, but the initial intimidation by the officer was most offensive and inappropriate. I would have put the names and badge numbers of those involved on my tape.

In a nutshell, businesses/corporations and state legislators meeting in private - closed to the public - and laying out legislation businesses/corporations/lobbyists want to see introduced in legislative sessions. With some imagination you can picture the INCENTIVES to the legislators to go along with the suggested legislation.

This particular video was at a hotel in Savannah, GA and reporters trying to get into the room where the meetings were taking place...being refused entry and being told by “security” to leave the hotel....

Yeah - I’ve been living in the real world for a long time and it’s plain to see that they don’t even attempt to hide their corruption and contempt any longer.

I realize they were supposed to be “off duty deputies” so why on earth were they in uniform if they were off duty? On someone’s security payroll? Then they shouldn’t have been in uniform, should they? Why do I keep looking for common sense and logic?

This particular investigative report out of Savannah may be considered “old news” as that meeting between legislators and lobbyists appears to have occurred last May. However, read the links in my post 7. What is unraveling in Alabama is happening NOW. Although the times, people, and places are different, the corruption is the SAME.

I couldn’t find a date for the Savannah one...and I did find the AL ones interesting..infuriating but interesting!
Sure hope AL tackles it and makes it known to the rest of the states - this will NOT BE TOLERATED or as progressives say “This is unacceptable.” Funny their definition of “acceptable” and ours is never the same!

Stories like this are why I doubt the effectiveness of an Article V Convention.

A gathering of that nature would only be of benefit if the participants had the best interests of the country and the citizens as their motivation. As we’ve seen repeatedly, the majority of modern politicians and political operatives are only motivated by self-enrichment.

I’d tread carefully down that road.

Very good point and probably right on target.

The video after the GA one is on the FED...see what they created in secret and their own self interest... Like a bad disease we can’t conquer! I believe I was in my thirties before I found out how it was brought about. Many, many years ago and many, many attempts to rein it in/audit it. We can look back now at the country we were proud of, raised in, grew up in, grew old in and wonder if we were all pretty naïve to believe in that imperfect country but one we knew wouldn’t let us down ! Compared to today, it seems like it never existed. We had no clue politicians throughout our history had something other than the country in mind!
