Good grief! :o)
Vegetarians lose battles if there is ANY hand-to-hand combat. Made sense if they became pacifists.
GREAT movie. Connery and Caine...who could lose?
2. The problem with the vegan diet is that you need to supplement it and you are almost required to eat over processed foods.
One can eat tons of fruit and vegetables and NO candy if one wants a HEALTHY vegan diet. No processed food need be ingested. It has too much sugar and salt anyway to be THAT healthy.
Personally, I can't imagine life without meat and dairy.
A bag of sugar is totally vegan. No animal products at all.
You can eat all the fruits and vegetables you want. You still are not getting the proper nutrients that you need from animal products. If you want those nutrients you either take supplements or you eat the foods that have been processed to contain those nutrients.
In either case you are forced to eat highly processed food.
And both sugar and salt are vegan.
B-12 is only found in ASF (Animal source food) but vitamin A, riboflavin, calcium, iron and zinc are all items that are not often found in high enough quantities in a vegan diet to make it a healthy one, especially for children.
If you add in fish, eggs or even just dairy to the diet (traditional vegetarianism) it is still not the best of diets but at least it will not eventually kill you.
That is why vegan is both an unnatural diet and a dangerous, recently invented fad while vegetarianism has a long history but considered more a "If you don't have to why would you" sort of thing.
I do agree with you in saying that veganism is unnatural and dangerous. Those idiots, morons not-to-bright individuals HERE who cling to veganism pay the price.
The poorest of our nation DO have the same nutritional problems of all underfed humanity. Meat is very expensive to produce. That IS one of the reasons, though a minor one, why India sticks to such a NON-animal way of eating.
The commies in China used to give the bulk of their meat to their soldiers. Then when the Chinese joined the rest of the world in the Olympic games, they LOST the first several years as their athletes simply weren't as strong as the West's. One saw it VERY clearly in the men athletes.
China then started giving their scarce meat also to the Olympians...and their success began in that field.
I remember them explaining to the world about the expense of producing meat.
I also remember WELL when their "women" athletes got younger and younger and younger. One POWERFUL female athlete turned out to be NINE YEARS OLD. I weighed in on that with so many others who deeply deprecated the MISUSE of their little girls.
NOW all athletes have to be SIXTEEN years old. Of course, the Chinese just MIGHT cheat. NOooooo, not them.
FYI: For the Chinese the word "meat" and "pork" are the same word. They are inveterate pork eaters.

You know that. I know that. But I know vegetarians who will argue that eating fish is not eating meat.
I prefer to waste my energy in other ways then arguing with them. :)
We are designed to eat a omnivore diet of cooked foods.
I am working to get to the point where I raise as much of my family's food as is reasonably possible. If you raise chickens and rabbits not only do you have a steady and healthy source of animal protein but you end up with a fantastic garden.
Add in a goat for dairy and a pig for fat and you are pretty much set.
