Why is it OKAY to eat bugs? They are God's creatures too with body and brains. Makes little sense.
The Hindus who ate no meat just ate plant life. SOME of the Hindus were so fanatic that they would ONLY eat the fruit AFTER it had fallen from the tree.
ALL'EM are just plain loony tunes.

Over the millenia of their culture they worshiped some 330 million gods/goddesses, animals, mythical creatures, inanimate objects and any combination thereof. Some women made their husbands "god."

My husband was POSITIVE that there was a group of Indians who worshiped '56 Chevies.

The Iliad gives repeated descriptions of warriors roasting meat and offering the first portion to the gods. Same with wine. The wine (heavier than modern wine) went into their bowls, water was added, then a bit was allowed to fall to the ground for the gods’ portion. Then they feasted. Not a vegetarian among ‘em.

Watch the documentary “Fat Head”. So many docs on there advocating good animals fats and protein and cutting carbs.
One talked about how he was a vegetarian for 9 years, and a strict one for 3, at the same time he was a strength coach, and he noted that that was when he was the weakest in his life. He also got depressed. Lack of animal fats and protein can cause depression. At the same time in the 80s when vegetarianism was being pushed there was a big rise in the number of books dealing with depression.

I don't know about the depression part but WEAKNESS? You bet! Maybe people got depressed because they became so weak.
Soldiers ALWAYS got the meat because they needed the meat to have the muscle to defeat enemies....and every culture with ANY brains KNEW that meat was a HUGE source of muscle and strength.

Thanks for your feedback!

I went vegan as part of Gerson therapy last summer because of a cancer diagnosis. My husband, a professional firefighter and serious powerlifter, went vegetarian to support me. Both of us have noticed increased stamina and we’ve had absolutely no trouble building (maintaining for me) muscle mass. I also love how much my skin glows. I hardly wear makeup anymore. Just some eyeshadow, mascara, and lip gloss and I’m done. I’ve always had thick hair, but my stylist is thinning it out so much more, and much more often. She even asked me what I was doing because she noticed a difference. I don’t know what the vegans and vegetarians you teach are doing, but they’re doing it wrong, lol!

Yep.

What a monumental amount of contributions the Greeks made to the world.

P.S. I recently saw a bit of a modern day movie with Gerard Butler. The script DID manage to get his shirt off several times, just to show off all those "Leonidas" muscles.

I liked it! :o) Quelle surprise.

I TOLD them about their pasty faces and weakness...and that is all a college teacher can do. MAYBE they listened and stopped that nonsense later on. I SURE hope so.

I droned on and on and on and on and on about staying strong in one's life: droning on about ALWAYS being able to get out of bed by oneself, go the the bathroom/bathe by oneself and ALWAYS being able to pick up one's grandchildren.

I used to tell the Chinese students who couldn't swim and didn't want to learn about a time when their 3-year-old child MIGHT fall into a pond or swimming pool and said parent could do one of two things:
Watch their child drown OR
jump in the water and ALSO drown because said parent didn't want to learn to swim.
They (college students) saw the logic of it and ALL learned to swim. They might not have learned to love the water but they learned to swim well enough to NOT drown and to save their child's life.

They are probably vegetarians that eat nachos and cheesy fries, all the while touting how healthy they are. Abundant amounts of fresh vegetables and fruits never cross their lips.

LOL. No doubt on both counts.

KC style BBQ is pretty much what we do. We have a smoker and most of the time we use a tomato & molasses based sauce but sometimes I mess around and use a mustard based sauce. I also tried a simple malted vinegar and onion sauce (Canadian recipe) and while I liked it the rest of the family didn’t.

The old Testament allowed for some meats. Catholics have a saying that the reason they are so smart is because they (used to) eat meat on Friday.

Vegans get wimpy.

It also degrades the bone structure. Weston Price's Nutrition and Physical Degeneration is a seminal work on the value of animal fats and meat, and the destructive and degrading effects of the modern diet.

There are veggie-burgers - basically garbage that’s supposed to taste like beef - but where are the meaty-broccolis? You don’t see people trying to make meat taste like veggies.

Got a great book on it: The Pageant of India’s History by Gertrude Emerson

“Some women made their husbands “god.””

Sounds sensible to me. :)

Of course, vegetarians can still be strong, if in sufficient numbers... I’m reminded of the end to The Man Who Would Be King...

Still wondering how they know that people from Vega don’t eat meat.

I worked with several vegans who were overweight and unhealthy. When asked how that could be I pointed out there was not a single bit of meat in a bag of sugar.

The problem with the vegan diet is that you need to supplement it and you are almost required to eat over processed foods.
