A family in Texas have made a decision to put their house trained pet Bison up for sale. "She is like a precious huge dog herself", the listing said. "She leaves this airspace of safety between you and her. She's very cognizant of you as a smaller person". "I mean, she comes in the house".
She soon realized, "I tried to live the dream but I just couldn't do it. It was too big a dream". "She was featured in the children's bookHeaven is for Animals by Nancy Tillman".
She added that Bullet moves with grace like a dancer. It was clear that Bullet needed a better home.
The eight-year-old female cow and can frequently be found strolling through the hallways of her owner's home. The reason for parting with Bullet is that the large animal needs more space to roam.
After receiving many emails expressing interest, she said she plans on meeting a couple, who she thinks will make good parents to her buffalo, to discuss adoption.
"Bullet loves to chase and spar with a riding lawn mower, wheel barrow or even my truck when I'm out in the field".

Did you hear about the guy in Africa who raised a baby hippo? He swam with it, rode it and played with it every day.

Those animals are not to be trifled with. “Domestication” is only temporary, until they revert to being wild.
Wolves were eventually domesticated. Bisons will, too. They will become uglier sheep, perhaps. Or just become steak on the dinner table.
Bison is good eating.
It is so very sad when pets outlive their owners. /S
I think hippos have a greater yearly people-kill than crocs do. Probably limiting “crocs” to those in Africa. Not sure about adding in non-Africa croc kills.

However, in all seriousness just let me add this. Humphrey the hippo was six years old when he savagely bit and pummeled his owner to death. Frankly, I am amazed the man survived the hippo as long as he did. As soon as Humphrey matured into an adult male was the time to send him packing. The hippo is the most deadly animal in Africa. Even for a wild animal ‘pet,’ the man was pushing the envelope.
Hippos will be hippos.
Clearly, this hippo liked/tolerated his owner about as much as it was possible for a hippo to do so. But there’s a limit on how far you can stretch nurture vs. nature. I think that those built-in limits are pretty clear for hippos and tigers, perhaps less so for pit bulls, but that’s a whole other discussion—which many on this thread will jump into enthusiastically.
Clearly, some animals that we don’t think of being companionable can grow to be somewhat tolerant of people. Lions come to mind... as do a couple of African hyena tamers and owners.

I can’t imagine cleaning his litter box..would be a great job for Hillary after The Donald gets elected!
