Merle Haggard - Working Man Blues
RIP
Greatest country singer/songwriter since Hank Williams. His death all but ignored. A few days later an over-the-hill burned out drug addict named “Prince” ODd and and it’s still the biggest story in town, with the hero worship non-stop. Sickening.
Yeah I agree totally with your comment.
No balance at all in the treatment.
I saw the display last year at the CM HoF in Nashville of the Bakersfield Sound. It was superb.
Yes you are right. Merle was one of a kind. Prince, sickening.
Oh yeah, they went on and on about Prince and Ziggy Stardust. Never really cared for either of them, but then I’m not really into preverts that much.
“I turned 21 in prison, doing life without parole.” His momma tried.
“A working man can’t get nowhere today”
“Big City” is another good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rscqSCxaKLo
“Gimme all I’ve got comin to me...”
Gimme all Ive got comin to me...
I’m getting close.I’ll take all Ive got comin to me.
Thats pretty ignorant. While The Hag was/is my favorite singer, to ignore his HUGE cocaine habit/presc drug habit is just silly. The man had his flaws... but damn he could sing.
Prince, though not my kind of music at all, was pretty damn talented as a musician.
Haggard was almost 80 when he died. Drugs didn’t kill him.
I understand that, but to say he never took drugs is ludicrous... and he took a LOT.
