A locker rear is available aftermarket, I’m told by a local tuner/racer. I also heard that mentioned once on “Top Gear’ as a complaint/feature of the new supercars. So much electronics control everything on these new cars, it’s scary.
Roush Performance has announced their Phase 2 Supercharger system for the 2015-2016 Ford Mustang GT 5.0-liter V8, now boasting an incredible 727 horsepower.
The system is the latest generation of their 2.3-liter TVS line of superchargers based on the long standing Eaton design.
A roots-type positive displacement supercharger, it has twin four-lobe rotors twisted 160-degrees vs older three lobe, 60 degree twist technology.
Roush says the fourth lobe and the added twist, when combined with newly-redesigned air inlet and outlet ports, offers greatly enhanced thermal efficiency, higher volumetric capacity, higher operating speeds, a smoother, more efficient flow of air into the engine, and improved noise and vibration characteristics.
The new calibration builds on their Phase 1 supercharger system, with additional components and a hotter tune which nets 727 horsepower at 6,850 rpm and 610 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. It will work for both manual and automatic transmissions.
The Package contains a high-capacity, low-restriction air filter and complete induction system, aluminum inter-cooler, full-face low-temperature radiator, and high-capacity degas bottle.
Engine and fuel system upgrades include Roush-designed high-flow fuel injectors, a larger 60mm dual-bore throttle body and a fuel pump booster. New spark plugs and ECU calibration are included as well.
You get the Roush heavy-duty first sheave FEAD system and 80 mm supercharger pulley. The new Phase 2 system is still not approved for California or states requiring an EO number. It does however come with an extended parts warranty is good for 3 years or 36,000 miles from the date of retail purchase
The system is priced at $7549.99 (Part # 422001) and if you already have a Phase 1 system on your car you can upgrade it with a partial package for $1099.99 (Part # 421994).
I can assure you, at 727hp it has the correct internals.
Now whether it's wise putting nitrous on an engine that already puts out 727hp, that sees only street time...
Don't know if the rest of the drive train can handle the power
(Let alone the driver)
Its great to up the HP and Torque with a little blow, but the draw back comes where the wheels meet the road. They had better beef up the drive train or the quarter shafts are going to break. The typical factory drive train can’t put more than 400 hp, of power before the components bend, and no more than 500hp before they snap like an overstretched rubber band. And they do snap like rubber at 500hp plus.
My parents big house with large yard and a creek out back cost was $43,000
I cannot pay more then a total of $10,000 for any car.
If I cannot pay it off in 3 years then I do not buy it.
That is what hardcore people call “repairable”, a “challenge”, or “that’ll buff right out”.
They found Mad Max’s car!
They’re older and have more insurance.
If it comes with a Factory Warranty, it’s a deal.
I was considering putting a Supercharger on my 2014 Corvette Stingray. Would have cost me about $6,000 but it would have voided the 100,000 Powertrain Warranty (which they No longer offer BTW).
One of my college roommates had one of those. Pinto platform, which says it all.
A Ford dealer in Buena Park California, has several 2015/2016 Rousch Stage 2’s with MSRPs from $54+
According to dealer’s site, the State 2 has 435 HP.
...so if the article is real, it is a genuine steal.

They’re older and I sure HOPE they have more insurance
I haven't bought a car with payments in about 15 years...until this year when my wife blow up a 2010 Altima I paid cash for...
I simply save $200.00 to $300.00 (a car payment) a month until I can buy a very nice newer used vehicle...an emergency comes up...I skip a month...
There are tons of vehicles a few years old that cost less than half new with decent mileage...
I done that.
There’s the trick. It’s in Lebanon, probably get killed by Hamas trying to pick it up.
WOW. 727hp in a GT.
I ordered a 2016 Mustang GT last year and am still having a ball. 435hp from the dealer. It took me about 6 weeks to learn to drive it in “normal” before I was brave enough to flip the switch to “sport”. I have not put it in “track” mode. The back end can break loose while traction control is still on if you don’t pay attention.
Took a lifelong friend for a ride last week and he was yelling “Holy Smoke!” when I hit 5th. I told him, “Wait, I got one more gear...”
I cannot imagine my car with 727hp. Would need some serious suspension improvements.
Me too.
Your Disdain Display indubitably impressive. Paul Ryan sends his regards.
