The drug trafficking does exist to feed America's insatiable appetite for dope. The violence exists because of the kinds of people involved in the drug trade in Mexico. That violence is moving north as Mexicans take over the drug trafficking inside the United States.

One thing Fox refuses to confront is the rampant corruption at all levels of government in Mexico. There is a reason why they use Mexican Marines to do the high level enforcement. Everybody else is assumed to be corrupt.
