“Mitt Romney running as a independent in the 2016 general Presidential election is quickly becoming a very strong possibility, folks.”

I haven’t seen a single thing that a Romney 3rd party run is a “very strong possibility”. It’s probably not even a very weak possibility given the enormous effort to mount even a barely plausable 3rd party effort. So far, the only thing that seems to have actually happened is that fool Romney met that fool Bill Kristol over “glasses of water”, where they probably wrung their hands like a pair of old ladies.

“The scary and nearly unthinkable result is that he could end up not just denying Donald Trump the Presidency but could become President himself.”

That’s so absurd as to be laughable. Not a snowball’s chance in hell of Romney winning 3rd party when he couldn’t win with all the resources of the GOPe at his disposal 4 years ago, not to mention, 3rd party runs in the U.S. have been complete jokes during modern election history.

True, except that Romney's loss in 2012 was largely his own doing. He just didn't seem to have the intestinal fortitude or the ideological underpinnings to enable him to overcome the attacks from Obama and the fifth column news media.

Still, this is a fascinating essay. It reminds me of how the political battles in the Republican Party led to the 1912 birth of Teddy Roosevelt's "Bull Moose" Party. Of course, this didn't help the GOP that year; Roosevelt fell far short of winning. He drew 4.1 million votes—27%, well behind Wilson's 42% but ahead of Taft's 23%. (6% went to Socialist Eugene Debs). He received 88 electoral votes, compared to 435 for Wilson and 8 for Taft.

Many historians have concluded that the Republican split allowed Wilson to win the presidency.

What is absurd is commenting on something you haven't even read. I specifically said he wouldn't win the vote and would come in 3rd. His ONLY chance would be if the election was decided by the House of Reps State Delegations. No wonder you aren't aware of Romney's 3rd party flirtation here.

Romney winning 3rd party when he couldn’t win with all the resources of the GOPe >>>> the sceanio is no winning the third party but denying the two a 270 then going to congress. where the lackies are the delegates now. the electoral college already voted and this would be after dec 14 when they vote.
