Son’s bid to marry was rejected
A Saudi father who accompanied his son for a planned marriage, himself married after the son’s plan bogged down, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The father went with his son to the would-be bride’s home but the girl’s mother rejected the proposal on the grounds she wants her elder daughter to marry first.
“The son was mad and stormed out of that house. His father stayed behind and asked to marry the elder daughter. Her mother quickly agreed,” Sada newspaper said in a report from the Southern Saudi province of Jazan.
How romantic.

Granted, there is way more leeway and lower risk in Islam.
Great idea, that way when he divorces himself he still gets to keep all of his stuff!
If the father marries the elder daughter, doesn’t that free up the younger daughter to marry the son?

He married himself? We can assume he will consummate with some lotion and a copy of “PlayBurka.”
Maybe - but consider that dad is getting a much younger wife. Youth trumps a lot of defects for an older man. And, if the bargain seems not so good the moment the burqa comes off, Islam is helpful there. The divorce is instant and low risk (depending on the details of the contract of course).

Surely in the absolute male domination of men over women in the Satanic Koran, they must get to take at least a peak at what’s lurking under the Burka.

From a family/clan point of view it matters a lot more that son gets the girl he want - grandchildren - than whatever happens to dad. So dad has negotiating power since he is making a decision for the clan, not just personally.
We could make a lot of people happier with a venue for such quick decisions. Lots more people should be married.
I suggest a 6-month cooling-off period where divorce is instant and no-cost.
As I understand it in some parts one does not get a peek pre-deal. At best one has to send a female relative to check her out and come back with a professional opinion.

How about, “Dad seeks bride for son, but instead marries her himself”?
