What kind of man would let his wife punch him in the nose? What kind of man would then call the police after being punched by a woman? Can he honestly call himself a man?

He did what any rational man would have to do in 2016.

If he had so much as raised his arm to block her blow, and she was bruised as a result, HE would have gone to jail, and lost everything in the divorce. I'm fairly sure she hit him in order to provoke a response she could use against him.

He called the police in order to be the first to call, and thus control the narrative. This way, the police will record his injuries, and he can file assault charges against her. This will put her in a less advantageous position in the divorce.

Another great tip for a guy who has a wife who abuses him physically and verbally (who also has kids) is to hire a babysitter from time to time so you can have an excuse to get a “nanny cam”. Nothing like having some video evidence of the abuse to use in court as a trump card when she starts making crap up about being beaten to show him getting pummeled and cowering while she taunts and beats on him to sway the court in the other direction. (check local laws about if you can even use one)..
