Here is a really awesome cover of one of my Favorite Beatles songs. Arranged and performed by Igor Presnyakov. I have linked to a tab, but it's not exactly the same but close enough for us mere humans. Enjoy

Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar Ping!

Another classic Beatles Song.

There is a tab link at post 1 but it isn’t exactly the same as the video. But it is in the same key, so you can work it out.

Enjoy

I never had the patience for fingerstyle myself. I can do “Blackbird” (but everyone can play that), and just through sheer force of will I managed to get decent at Big Bill Broonzy’s version of “Glory of Love”, but I gave up after that and went back to strummin.

Here’s that Big Bill Broonzy song I can bang out:

I don’t have the tab for it though, I found a midi version of it and converted it to sheet music with some freeware utility and learned it off of that.

Nice, but I already learned it one way, if I try to learn it another my brain’s gonna be fighting my fingers :)

You have to turn off your brain and let your fingers do the thinking.

As they say, when you are performing a song, if you have to think about it, you’re dead.

Will you add me to your ping list please? I don’t play (took years of piano lessons) but I love listening.

The Beatle’s original version was my favorite. It was almost fully acapella. The sweeping harmonies are wonderful and irresistible. The song lasts less than three minutes, but it provides an excellent escape into a place of beauty.

As many of you here already know, Paul wrote this song after becoming fascinated and impressed with Brian Wilson’s song “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys. I like that Beach Boy song, but I’m not enamoured with it, not in the way many musicians of that time were. A trained musician knows how to listen to the construction and execution of a song, especially a pop song, which has been known to succeed when certain criteria are met or alluded to.
