Three former U.S. prosecutors say fetal-tissue profiteering probe is warranted

Three former federal prosecutors testified Wednesday that a federal investigation is warranted into whether a California medical procurement company and abortion clinics are illegally profiting from aborted fetal tissue.

“Based on my review of the exhibits, a competent, ethical federal prosecutor could establish probable cause that both the abortion clinics and the procurement business violated the statute, aided and abetted one another in violating the statute, and likely conspired together to violate the statute,” said Brian P. Lennon, a former federal prosecutor in Michigan and Virginia.

His comments before the House Select Panel on Infant Lives came as part of its hearing on “The Pricing of Fetal Tissue.”

Mr. Lennon said his conclusions were based on exhibits, including billing information, consent forms and brochures, unearthed in a majority staff investigation and released for the hearing.

The name of the tissue-procurement company was redacted on exhibits presented at the hearing, but several members of the panel said the material came from StemExpress, a California biotech company linked to Planned Parenthood in an undercover investigation by the pro-life Center for Medical Progress.

“Accounting and marketing materials from the fetal tissue procurement business demonstrate beyond question that there is more than sufficient cause to support a full investigation by federal authorities to determine if such practices violate the felony provisions of [the statute],” said Kenneth W. Sukhia, former U.S. Attorney for North Florida.

Federal law forbids anyone from “knowingly” acquiring, receiving or transferring “any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration.” The term “valuable consideration” excludes “reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue.”

Of all the evils embraced by our society, this one is hard to comprehend. How can any woman who has carried a life in her womb believe that infanticide is good and right?

I overheard a customer talking about what Trump said that absolutely infuriated her: his comment regarding what would happen to women if abortion were illegal. This was a woman who I’m pretty sure has adult children. To hear her rant about the right of women to be able to kill their babies was sickening.

She once felt a baby jump when she swallowed ice water, bounce with hiccups, and kick and roll over when crowded in her belly. How any woman can believe that babies should be killed at the discretion of the mother is beyond my comprehension.

Instead they arrest reporters who blew the whistle on Planned Parenthood’s baby body parts for money scandal.
