I’ve been off-line. What are the four? I heard about Japan and Ecuador...what are the other two?

There have been three in four days, two in the same areas of Southern Japan and one in Ecuador. RIP to all the sudden, tragic deaths. And of course hoping the next one isn’t the one day I’m in Tokyo next month.

I am currently rereading “A Crack in the Edge of the Earth: The Great California Earthquake of 1906” by Imon Winchester. The early chapters talk about a great many other earthquakes that had happened in the month or so leading up to that April 18. (whoa, 100 year anniversary tomorrow!)
Ping to the catastrophe nerd cult.

If we get everyone on earth to jump up and down ten times at the exact same moment, then it will cause the earth to disintegrate.

'The current conditions might trigger at least four earthquakes greater than 8.0 in magnitude.'
Then again, they might not.

The
current seven-day, 2.5 Magnitude or greater count is 335 (Updated: 2016-04-17 17:03:50 UTC-07:00). Up until last week it was running about 180. It kicked up to 220 a couple of days ago, and almost overnight spiked to the current level.
Pretty unusual activity, but hey, don't worry, be happy!

went through a 7.5 in Alaska back in the 90’s. Glad I was sitting down at the time or it would have knocked me down. Scary too, the whole house creaked and groaned.

“TRANSLATION: Send money”.
Exactly my first thought. They need more money for “research”. The first millions have run out so lets scare the public.
