It’s a comedy. They play up certain traits of characters. They’ve finally started doing that with the female characters now thanks to the addition of Amy. I don’t see it as extreme as you do. It makes me laugh.
I have had a struggle with TBBT for a few years.
Honestly, I find them so funny that it’s just a nice down time. I like Sheldon, Amy is precious, even Howard is a very good character. It makes me laugh and I watch VERY little television because it’s so stupid.
Having said that, I have often felt convicted that I should not be watching. The attitudes and jokes regarding sex, the ridicule of Christianity (when Sheldon’s mother is involved) makes me cringe, and just the general attitudes about drinking, use of the phrase “Oh my God”, etc. are not good.
It’s really a shame, because, as I say, it’s pretty well done and it makes me laugh. So far, I’m losing my battle.

Love Sheldon too. He is so full of himself and has really has done a lot with his role - all the actors seem to be perfectly cast. I would think the show should appeal to those in that generation, but not maybe the snowflakes. Would love to know their viewer breakdown.

The university is a joke. I retired from there after 1 1/2 contracts. But I like the island. We enjoy the house and garden. The beaches are nice and the locals friendly
And earlier in the same episode when Sheldon has to help her dress after she fell & dislocated her shoulder...
“Really, that top and those shorts?”
And the best, as he’s helping her put on her shirt, without looking:
Penny: “... Is that my shoulder?”
Sheldon: “It doesn’t feel like a shoulder.”
Penny: “Then maybe you should let it go...”

“I quit watching it for the same reason plus I cannot stand Leonard’s mother.
That actress (voice only, whom has never been seen in the show ) died in real life and as well as her character in the show. Its ok to watch again.
That was Howard's mom played by Carol Ann Susi. Leonard's mother is played by Christine Baranski.
