As long as the Democrats hold out the promise of a forgiveness law for student debt, it would not be smart for anyone to start and be the last one paying their debt.
Among other things, the student loan program is so rife with colleges who encourage more and more debt in order to sell their product—eduation—without limits or any real counseling about whether a degree in feminist studies or 17th Century English poetry has any economic value in the real world.
