Have yet to travel by air since that was introduced. Traveling by auto, not arriving rapidly, but certainly more enjoyably. Even with the traffic on the roads and by-ways. Auto travel brings back the nostalgia bug - the family would take 3-week vacations throughout the countryside, camping, fishing, visiting relatives. All in the old station wagon, back seat laid flat for sleepy time youngsters.
Sigh, those are fond memories.
Actually, it was communists who brought us the metal detector. Hijacking planes to Havana.
The muslims brought us cavity searches, and backscatter x-rays.
