Why blame Satan for our own follies?
Satan tempts all of us, and God gave us the Free-Will to choose.
Satan is the one who sets up the snares and traps designed take advantage of our fallen human nature. Theses snares and traps have become so large that they are now societal "structures of sin" that are very difficult to avoid.
God has given us a free will, but we have been born into sin since the original sin in the Garden of Eden. Thus, we are sinners in need of a Savior -- Jesus Christ.
Prayers help to avoid sin and give Grace to our fallen natures.
