Granted, but as a producer, he turned out to be excellent, and critical to their early success. Without him they may have never made it.

And once they became popular, if he weren’t excellent he certainly would have been replaced.

Agree totally. When people ask who was the 5th Beatle, the answer certainly is George Martin.

I still believe they are the MOST overrated band of all time. I'm probably in the minority here, but they were a little better than an average band.

From 1964 to 1969, the Beatles put out an album, on average, every 6 months. Each succeeding album from 1965 was radically different than its predecessor. I consider it one of the most productive eras in modern music.
