Interesting take. I'd rather not see Kasich on the ticket , but Cruz might be acceptable on the Supreme Court.

Why would Donald Trump want to nominate an illegal Canadian citizen who is the nastiest liar he’s ever known to the Supreme Court?

Kasich already said he will not be Trump’s VP. I would like to see Cruz on the Supreme Court, I just don’t know if Trump and Cruz can reach a deal after all of the mud-slinging.

“Trump should offer Governor Kasich the VP slot and Senator Cruz the vacant Supreme Court seat.”

This is a great idea. Kasich would be a good VP. He is an experienced Washington insider who knows his way around Congress and the bureaucracy. Cruz would be a great Supreme Court Justice. He is an intelligent and principled attorney who has argued before the Supreme Court.

Heard it said that the Cruz family owes One Million Dollars debt — to pay off.

I would like Cruz on the Supreme Court, but Kasich as VP would be a deal breaker for me.

Kasich is hard-core amnesty open/borders, all in for “gun control,” etc. No thank-you.

I like David Stockman and I think he’s got a pretty good take on things generally. I am not pushing Kasich but I think that’s who we will get for VP. He is the Biden of the GOP and he’s a good party foot soldier so Trump would not have to check daily for a knife in his back. Cruz would definitely be a good pick for the Supreme Court. He’s a brilliant lawyer he’s just a sleazy politician.

“I would like Cruz on the Supreme Court, but Kasich as VP would be a deal breaker for me.”

Reagan chose Bush for VP in 1980. Bush was opposed to every aspect of Reagan's policy but he came around. People joked about how Bush changed all his positions after becoming Reagan's VP.

No! No! A thousand times No!

Kasich is completely unacceptable. He supported the Assault Weapons Ban. His comment on religious freedom for the bakers fined $135,000 for refusing to bake a custom cake for a gay parody of marriage was “bake the cupcake”. He supports Obamacare and Amnesty. No Kasich!

“Heidi won’t let Ted quit”

Ted has promised too many people too much for all the money he has received to quit, just like Hillary. I have no doubt the foreign interests paying her would kill her entire family if she ever reneged on Bill and Hillary’s promises they made to get that money.

I heard stories about how Reagan told people privately he was sorry he had picked George H. Bush as his VP.

And back in 1988, George H. Bush ran for president on the Reagan record. As soon as he was elected and sworn in, Bush 41 threw the Reagan people under the Bush and tossed aside most of the Reagan agenda.

“A kinder, gentler tone” and all that crap.

George H. gave lip service to Reagan’s agenda when he, George H., was VP, but that all changed when Bush 41 was in the top position.

“I heard stories about how Reagan told people privately he was sorry he had picked George H. Bush as his VP.”

The man Reagan wanted was Paul Laxalt. They became good friends when both were Governors and they were cut from the same cloth. The country would have been much better off if Reagan had stuck with his instincts instead of bowing to pressure when he chose his VP.

The press tagged Laxalt with the title “The First Friend”, he and Reagan were that close.

Not insisting on Laxalt for VP is one of recent history’s ‘might have beens’, the path not taken that would have changed things for the better.

“George H. gave lip service to Reagan’s agenda when he, George H., was VP, but that all changed when Bush 41 was in the top position.”

I agree. That is the main reason Bush only served one term and destroyed the Reagan coalition that had elected Bush in 1988.

Bush also let the media smear Dan Quayle who could have been a great Senator but ended up being a laughing stock as Bush’s VP.

Who would you prefer as VP?

That’s hard to say. Jeff Sessions, maybe? Great guy, but in terms of electoral politics, Alabama is probably the state with the highest probability of going red in any presidential election year.

I would have said Ted Cruz at one time, but Trump and Cruz have too much bad blood between them these days.

I just don’t want to see a RINO picked as VP.

I don’t want Ted or anyone else from Harvard on the Supreme Court, period. Enough with the profs at Harvard having messed with the heads of the majority of USSC Justices.

Actually, my first choice for the Supreme Court would be Janice Rogers Brown.

I share your opinion of Harvard.
