I prefer to be an optimist. I also know how unusual it is for the general public to grasp the concept of "Millions of people will die". Most of the public immediately think of "tin foil hat nut" when they hear such talk, so I lowball the estimate in an effort to make people consider the problem more seriously.
I should not be surprised to find the actual death toll to be commensurate with what is said in Revelations. Who can say what will be the consequences of another world war?
So how do we get people to understand just how serious this is? How do we wake them up?
In my experience, moderates don’t want to hear about any of it. Their belief structure is constantly reinforced by the media and academia. So they slough off ideas that tend to upset their world view. However, based upon reactions of moderates I have pressed, I would say they are afraid to even consider dangerous issue. This also seems to be the problem with them in general when discussing the perils of liberalism. Too frightful to contemplate. Frankly, I don’t believe we will be able to wake them up. At least not until they get smacked in the face. Can’t stop trying though. This election cycle should be enlightening.
