Boy, that undercarriage looks like a complete afterthought. I'm sure it's quite functional, but it does have a bit of a grocery cart appearance.

That is a KA-25 ASW helicopter, totally unrelated to the KA—52. The big bulge is its radome.
The Russian AEW helicopter is the KA-31, which uses a retractable radar.
