Newark will test 17,000 children for lead poisoning after elevated levels of the toxin were found in the drinking water at nearly half of the schools in New Jerseys biggest city. [ ]
In the week since the higher lead levels were first reported, officials have urged calm. They say the lead levels in some of Newarks schools dont compare to the crisis that has plagued Flint, Michigan.

I sense a vast new wave of victimization building.
Not to minimize lead poisoning, it’s very dangerous.
This has got to be either Trump’s fault or possibly Bush.
One of the two.
Christie will get the blame since this didn’t show up until he was governor.
Of course the crack smokin’ and 24/7 TV watching had nothing to do with it.
I can distinctly remember chewing on my lead based crib paint and nothing happened to me. In fact that I graduated with honors.
Our house had lead pipes, asbestos, lead paint and 3 people smoked. Mom lived to be 90. Dad died at 78 because no surgeon was available and it took 4 hours to find one. Upstate NY!!
Case for home school, ping.
Yup...just like asbestos and radon...
I’ve read that the entire lead paint hysteria was fomented so as to excuse the incredibly poor school performance of ghetto children, because the Great Society was supposed to fix that and it didn’t.
I see a pattern: Always an excuse by leftists, and always something that more of my tax dollars will fix.
I wonder if those *elevated* levels are close to what WE were exposed to as kids.
And *elevated* compared to what exactly*?
Some arbitrary standard that keeps being lowered until EVERYONE is exposed to *elevated* levels and needs the government to step in and *help*?
Ruling by crisis continues to expand.
hmmm, I’m wondering if lead poisoning is rampant in heavy liberal areas
On the bright side, the dems see a whole new crop of [lead induced dementia] voters.
Bet they’ll sneak in a few other tests and have a long evaluation form with only 4% relating to the water.
