This is the heartwarming moment a dog and its owner were joyously reunited after she returned from basic training in the Army.
Video of the pair seeing each other for the first time in two months showed the elderly dog panting and wagging its tail like pup upon seeing Private Hannah Foraker.
The 21-year-old had returned home to Cleveland, Ohio, for a two-week break when the emotional reunion occurred.
Her elderly dog Buddy, 13, suffers from arthritis and had been appearing depressed while she was away, lacking the energy to go for long walks or even up the staircase at her parents' home.

And WHY would they put an old dog through Army basic training?

Our little girl cairn terrier was almost 18 when she passed about a month ago. She was born in 1998 we were all a lot younger then!!

We had a chow/golden mix we called Candybear. Wonderful friend and protector to our family with numerous health problems. The last day, she crawled down off her chair into my wife’s arms and passed. Brings me to tears every time I think of it :-(

Goldens are the best dogs God every put life into. I have had two; one female and later, one male. They passed away and I still love them.

I may not completely disagree with you but I feel as though my dog would challenge that notion - Lab/Beagle mix, we call him Mozart or Mo for short ... Most loving, devoted canine friend I have ever had or known.

I noticed the dog’s hind leg moving in the scratching motion but not really scratching. My old timer Otis,16,has been doing this a lot. Anyone have any insight on this?

Reminds me of the joke with the punchline => “After an hour, unlock the closet and let them out. Which one is happy to see you?”

We can learn someting from dogs:
"When someone you love walks through the door, even if it happens five times a day, you should go totally insane with joy."
