Of course all of this misses the bigger story - that Breitbart realized that it was in legal peril because of the libel and malicious prosecution arising from the underlying claims against Lewandowski, who, it might be noted further, is not a public figure.

That these two submitted pro-forma resignations in lieu of being fired is standard fare, though it is usually so they can spend more time with their families - attend to an elderly grandmother, etc.

Yes, I have no doubt that legal calls were flying back and forth. Don’t forget that Matthew Boyle is mixed up in this too. He told Corey in an email that he didn’t make the claim about the “confession” but Daily Beast said they were sticking by their reporter. I haven’t looked to see what the update is about that.
