Larkspur Ferry Parking
13 Mar 2015

Posted on 03/13/2016 6:35:03 PM PDT by rey

How quickly does that Larkspur Ferry parking fill up on a weekday? If I am there before 7:30 am I ok? Is there additional parking nearby?

Thanks for the help.

Shhh. Don’t spoil my plan. What I need to know is if I can park there before I steal the ferry?

Just make sure you read the instructions on how to pay for your parking, or you’ll find a very nice ticket on your car when you return (if it isn’t also impounded.)

I don’t know about parking after 730.

I heard there is a new parking lot to ease parking but, also have a friend who didn’t display the receipt correctly or pay for it correctly and got a very expensive ticket.

Where are you going to be in the city?

If you are around Union Square, I would drive over and park at the Sutter Street Garage.

If you are going to be in the financial district, I would park at the structure just north of the Embarcadero towers.

seem cheap enough to me.

I am not familiar with the city. I am going to Pi Day at the Exploritorium; Pier 15. The child I am taking likes to ride the ferry. I am not adverse to driving, however.

Take the Ferry.

You will be right next to the Exploratorium and there are plenty of other things to do around there and great restaurants....

I haven’t taken the ferry in a long time, but there’s now extra parking at the old Marin Airporter location - 300 Larkspur Landing Circle (about a 3-block walk to the ferry ticket booths).

I agree. Take the ferry from Larkspur. Take a jacket, for sure, and a camera.

According to google maps:
Larkspur to Exploratorium via 101 freeway 16 miles, 29 minutes

According to http://goldengateferry.org/schedules/Larkspur.php:
Larkspur to Ferry bldg./Exploratorium 30 minutes and $11.49 per adult

I personally would drive, since I know the area. But the ferry is much more peaceful, beautiful and fun.

Have fun. The Exploratorium is really nice. And it is fun the see the skateboarders and cyclists in the area.
