Many voters now have no choice but to support Trump. Teddy Bear Cruz already had a mounting list of negatives: Glenn Beck, toys for illegal aliens, disgraceful behavior at ABC? debate, lies and more lies re Dr. Carson and others, an image to many of being creepy and filled with rage, handshake with Rubio, Neil Bush, etc. Now he had a chance to take a new turn. What does he do? He sides with the left against free speech.

Is Cruz that stupid or is something else involved?

I think this episode may expose a problem in the Cruz campaign. His support, although principled, is also a little thin. He doesn’t seem to create the necessary emotional connection to his supporters like Trump does. When things go bad for him, there doesn’t seem to be a rallying that one would expect. Instead, it’s a rush to the exits.
