I know a guy that works in a Portland dispensary. He’s a Bernie fan from before the campaign. Otherwise, he’s quite intelligent.
The Soviet Union put young people convicted of illegal drugs on the end of the list to get what few cars were made each year. It was effective enough that none other than James Dobson (yes, the guy who runs Focus on the Family) mentioned it in at least one of his books, saying “I’m told it has had a remarkable effect on the unpopularity of narcotics...”
Now they had an alcohol problem like no other, but that was because they had a crazy huge supply from their state-sponsored vodka industry to help people forget their many problems under Communism.
