I didn’t read the study.
I typically presume, myself, that unprocessed whole grain breads do not do harm versus processed endosperm-only breads.

Other articles on the subject merely say “carbs”, so I’m guessing it refers to simple carbohydrates.

Does this apply to whole wheat, gluten-free, or multigrain bagels or just to white flour bagels? William Davis wrote a book several years ago called "Wheat Belly." He pretty much took to task anything thing that contains any type of flour.
