A high-profile pro-gun activist was rushed to hospital after she was shot in the back by her four-year-old son after he found her pistol lying on the back seat of her truck. Jamie Gilt, 31, who posts about firearms on her social media accounts was driving through Putnam County, Jacksonville, Florida yesterday in her truck when she was wounded.

my three year old son shot me in the back of the head with a pistol i thought was unloaded.
taught me a lesson, big time about leaving anything like that in his reach. it was, indeed, a water pistol, but one does live and learn.

child endangerment charges... but should she lose her right to bear arms? no. shall not be infringed.
These kinds of idiots do tremendous damage to all lawful gun owners... she was damn lucky the kid didn’t accidentally shoot himself or some innocent person.

.........Well, gun accidents do happen all around the country every day but leaving a loaded .45 in the reach of a little boy goes waaaayyyyy beyond “an accident”.
I feel sorry for this obviously fine young woman but she did SCREW UP......................BIGTIME!!!
Hopefully this incident fades from the little boys memory..........forever!
I hope she has a full physical recovery.
Her mental retardation, however, isn’t fixable.
This is similar to the woman in Walmart who was killed by her son who was riding in the shopping cart, took the gun out of her purse and shot her in the head.
