Drones got you down? British company is offering a new way to ensnare and bring down robotics planes operating illegally in your airspace the SkyWall 100, a net-firing bazooka.
The proliferation of cheap and easy to fly drones has triggered a rise in the number of incidents where the safety and security of individuals and facilities has been compromised, OpenWorks Engineering explains. They have infiltrated the security of heads of state, delivered contraband into prisons and photographed private film sets and celebritys property.

Net Shooters, YES!
Looks like a Ghost-Buster weapon.
What about the innocent birds that could be caught in the net? what propellent are they using? Is it safe for the environment? How is this going to be regulated? It sounds dangerous. Could it affect global warming, melting ice caps and sea level change? What if criminals or terrorists get ahold of them?
Have they completely thought this through?
(Liberal logic sarcasm at work here)
I thought they had a jamming weapon?
This concept needs to be scaled down for use against hobby shop quad-copters that spy on our backyards. Between the airgun manufacturers and the folks who make those t-shirt cannons used at stadiums, the parts are all there. Just gotta figure out the ammo.
what the hell good is gum going to do.
is Joe gonna throw chewed up pieces at them.
..that’s the worst joke I’ve made in months, and that’s saying something. :)
OK, I want a drone, and I want a Skywall.
compressed air
Looks like a Zorg weapon. Which also has a net shooter. But don't press the red button!
In our state, an anti-drone bazooka is called a shot gun. There apparently is an option for snoopy drone pilots, called a kick in the testicles.
I hope this doesn’t confuse the bees. Pollination could be affected and then our agricultural (I mean ethanol) production could suffer.
More research should be funded for this.
(Again... liberal logic cynicism/sarcasm applied here).
That was my idea within minutes after hearing of the possibility of being spied upon by regime drones. You can’t shoot ‘em down with regular ammo without endangering your neighbors, but a little weighted net fired from a shotgun or even a slingshot at close enough range would bring ‘em down.
How do you find them, though? Is there some kind of RDF device you can use to track their location? Or do you have to follow the drone back to the barn?
