Completely different process. The GOP only had one caucus location per county...and all you did is walk in, mark a ballot, and leave. The rats have an actuall caucus...with numerous locations for everyone to meet and get counted.
If the Democrat caucus was open to the extent your neighbors were aware of the candidate you voted for, all the more interesting to see a Bernie win. Gonna be a lotta corpses around KS in the near future.

There were 9 locations in Johnson County. One per county in the rest.
Even with 9 locations I stood in line over an hour. They checked my drivers license, gave me a ballot with 8 or nine names (printed before all the drop outs) and I went into the school lunch room to check my ballot and drop it in a slot in a cardboard box, which was fine with me. I have a hard time trusting Diebold boxes.
