A small cheap ($35) linux computer. It is typically used for small devices, robots, maker projects, etc.

linux computer

Not just Linux. I managed to get a copy of Windows 8.1 RT to run on a gen 2 Pi. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

Not just all that... I have 4 PIs of various vintage, and run NetBSD and Linux (Debian Jessie) on them. Great little servers, and even desktops. I am posting this from one of my PIs running a version of Firefox (Iceweasel)... I am in the process of moving off Windows totally onto Linux/BSD and one of my desktops will be a PI2.

Could you make a supper computer with say 100 of these little computers? I have these horrible calculations that I need to make and even my new laptop can't handle rendering the graphics in real time.
