Disney will often close rides on non-peak days to do maintenance, so even on non-peak days you still have to wait in long lines.

This still isn't a bargain. If you happen to live near one of these parks, the money you save going on a weekday is more than cancelled by having to take a day off work, or not being able to do it at all because the kids are in school.

This is an empty gesture.
